The Friends of Park Hill aim to preserve the history of the Park Hill Estate in Sheffield, sharing the stories of those who designed and built it and residents past and present.

About Park Hill

Constructed in 1961, Park Hill is a Brutalist concrete icon and Europe’s largest listed building set in 25 acres of greenery in the heart of the city centre.

It was one of the first and remains the best-preserved example of deck access housing in the UK, with its ‘streets in the sky’ attracting interest from architects, scholars and enthusiasts worldwide.

We will document the estate’s rise, fall, and rebirth through events, exhibitions, publishing and the establishment of a permanent archive.

Our ambition is to secure premises at Park Hill where our archive can be curated and displayed for visitors to enjoy.
